Project Nash

Challenge: Replicating heritage curved glazing while achieving modern thermal, acoustic, and structural standards posed a significant technical challenge. The retained façade and rooftop extension imposed tight spatial constraints and required rigorous integration between new and existing elements.

Solution: Crystal Units delivered laminated and solar control IGUs precisely fabricated for curved and flat applications. These units matched heritage aesthetics while providing essential modern performance, enabling Project Nash to meet sustainability and comfort standards without compromising its architectural integrity.

Project summary:

Completed in 2023, the redevelopment retained the original stone façade while introducing new floor plates and a discreet rooftop extension. A critical component of the works was the design and fabrication of complex glazed elements, including curved windows faithfully replicated to match the building’s original form. Crystal Units supplied advanced insulating glass units featuring solar control and laminated specifications, supporting thermal comfort, acoustic control, and visual clarity within a challenging heritage context.

The same profile system was used across both curved and flat glazing, ensuring visual continuity and precision detailing across the façade. These high-spec units contributed to the project’s energy performance targets while supporting a premium internal environment suitable for commercial occupancy.
