Windmill Rise

Challenge: The original specification called for triple-glazed units to meet the energy performance targets. However, the weight and handling complexity of triple glazing posed a significant challenge, particularly for high-level installation on the tower block. Adding to the technical demands, the large glazed atrium at the top required bespoke curtain walling to match the tapered roofline – introducing logistical and design intricacies.

Solution: We provided a high-performance double-glazing solution that matched the thermal efficiency of triple glazing but with considerably less weight. This allowed for easier installation on upper floors while preserving the integrity of the architectural intent. The use of our advanced insulating glass technology enabled the project to stay on schedule without compromising on performance or design. Close collaboration between Everglade, our technical team, and the contractors ensured seamless integration – even on the most geometrically complex areas such as the rooftop atrium.
